Dear Colleagues,
Trust this email finds you well. It is once again time to think about honouring the great work of our colleagues through the annual OCC/CCCO awards. I personally love the opportunity OCC provides to recognize the good work we all do in in the Ontario College system. In my first year at Sheridan, I really appreciated the opportunity to recognize and nominate my colleague and mentor, Sandra Hornby, for her hard work and dedication to the lives of the students and staff alike here at Sheridan College and hope you will consider doing the same.
The “OCC/CCCO Award of Excellence for Counselling Practice” honours counsellors who demonstrate excellence and innovation in the provision of counselling services, and who have significantly contributed to student success at their college.
The “OCC/CCCO Leadership Award” recognizes the outstanding contribution and/or leadership of an individual or individuals working within the Ontario Community College system.
We know there are many counsellors doing great work in our college system, and celebrating our successes is a key part of job satisfaction. It is so important for counsellors to be recognized for their efforts and your nomination may be just the boost that a colleague needs. Celebrating our work is one of the rewarding parts of our jobs!
Please consider taking the time to nominate someone who is doing outstanding work at your college and deserving of one of these awards. This year the awards will be presented at our OCC/CCCO AGM on May 13th at Mohawk College.
